Local Parade Day

So yesterday was our town's annual parade. It was freaking cold......I'm wearing gloves for goodness sakes. So there we were, proud parents sitting alone of the "smoker" side of the parade route. You know the one, where all the other parents are elbow close on the other side and staring at those of us who are spaciously awaiting our children.
Duchess was the first one to go by. She lucked out and was in a float at the front of the parade so she "called" her dad via cell, cracks me up that she is smart enough to borrow a phone, and said come get me so I can catch candy. So she joined us, hence no more smoking side of the street. (Hey, we try really hard to be good parents).
Princess was on a float for her ballet company, where they did their Alice and Wonderland thing. It was great. She's a card soldier for the queen of hearts. Isn't she lovely. I was briefly worried about the sheer amount of hair spray it required to keep her hair up in a proper bun during the ultimate wind storm but it held. Look at that smile.............
Speaking of smiles.....my baby was thrilled at the sheer amount of candy that landed her way.....I'm so in love with our new town. They just rock. However, whether it was the cold, the length of the parade I don't know but we came home and took a four hour nap..........we're all slightly spoiled..........

How was your weekend?
