This & That

1. It's week 3 of accounting. I just finished my homework for the week. It was 18 problems. I had taken 12 pages of notes, and it took 6 scrolls of my spreadsheet in Excel to get to the bottom. How many licks to the center of a lolly pop?

2. Lucky for me, I work with some super smart peeps. Honestly there is one person so smart in accounting (hello CPA) and so patient with me that on my break today I went and had a mini meltdown over not knowing how to do my depreciation accounts. He taught them to me. In 5 minutes. Gawd......if only I were that sharp. To digest this crap and spit it up golden. Geeeez.

3. A friend of mine is getting her psychology undergrad degree. Which is actually very amusing for me. We gossip and she gives people official labels. It's fun, cause she graduates in May so she can do that. Except, today she whipped out the book and diagnosed me. While I was trying to churn out a project, laughing as I swore and called her names...... I asked somebody to fire her but they said, NO! Did you know that there is very close relationship between OCD and Narcissist Behavior blah-whatever? Yeah neither did I....... so on that note, I'm not OCD. I'm just very clean and very much like it organized. Alot.

4. Narcissist people suck. If you are one? Sorry. Honestly they are the least likely people to be my friends. Because I really don't have patience for all that drama. They never return the favor, you know what I mean. They are that other mom who NEVER volunteers to do carpool, cause she'd have to get up and put her face on first.

5. Murphy is huge. The baby has grown taller, wider and snores. Since crating him day and night was too not cool, he now sleeps with me. NEVER thought that would happen. EVER.

6. The Man made me dinner and kept quiet while I took my homework test. My mom came and got my kids so I could knock it out. I LOVE THEM. Supportive begins with family. I so couldn't do this without them.

7. My mom got a car that is as cute as she is. That rocks. I love new cars. Wonder how fast it'll go?

8. Duchess wounds me. When I picked her up at my mom's after my test, she ran to me and whispered "oh I misseded you"........

9. Princess said a quick hi mom and then left me for The Man.

10. When did they get so big? Sigh.........

11. I want to be at Disney with CG! I need a vacation.......

Doing a quick re-read, it sounds so negative. But I'm actually rocking quite the good mood. Now, excuse me. There is ALOT of sleep in my future.

I still have a hard time believing that people actually waste, I mean take time from their day to read my thoughts, so I'm stoked to bring you this edition of ................ Questions:
1. What was I doing ten years ago?

This is pretty funny, since just yesterday I was on the phone with my girlfriend talking about how this month was our 10 year anniversary. Two of my very bestest friends came into my life 10 years ago this summer...

Okay, but what was I doing? Well 10 years ago, I have a six month old little girl, a husband deployed to the Persian Gulf and had moved from a small cardboard box in Imperial Beach, CA (read: apartment) into my first military townhouse, on base. It was old, made of concert walls and it was the best thing ever. I was thrilled. And scared and thrilled and nervous and thrilled. It was The Man and my's first separation due to the Navy. Thank you Navy. I grew some backbone that summer.

2. What are five things on my list to do today?

A. I'm going to finish this accounting project for my boss. I'm currently analysing the past four years of month income statements to find the problem areas. It's long, boring work. But I have my ipod, my phone on "send calls" and I have lotion for my poor dry fingers. I have been doing this all week. I'm very tired of it.

B. I'm also going to meet The Man for lunch. So I can complain about A above. Then we're going to work on picking out blinds for the new place.

C. I'm going to NOT call my broker five times today like yesterday to see if the appraisal on my house is back. I'm NOT! Four times maybe, but not five. That poor bastard is going to rue the day he ever took us as clients.

D. I'm going to clean out my car. We have a family event tomorrow where Princess will be going to perform a brief glimpse of Alice and Wonderland, the ballet. Therefore the entire family will be going in my car. The car that seats five now seats one driver and a ton of crap!

E. I'm going to be nice to someone today. But I will choose carefully who that someone will be. Can't waste that on just anybody.

3. Snacks I enjoy?

When I'm not on a diet........Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey. When I am on a diet, I'm the chunky monkey.

4. Things I Would Do If I Were A Billionnaire?

Buy my house outright, purchase my mom a log cabin in the woods. Secure my children's future and not tell them about it, don't want to raise spoilt rotten people right? Then I would travel, read and not do "corporate" work again, ever........

5. Three of my bad habits?

A. I curse worse than the sailor in my life. Seriously, nobody in my family growing up used "bad words" yet I think in bad words.........Mom, am I adopted?

B. I smoke Marlboro Lights, in the box. Don't even start with me, I've smoked on and off for fourteen years now. I actually like it, back off.

C. I'm a very picky person. I am picky about my friends, cause honestly you just can't waste your time on just anybody these days. I'm picky about my house, my job..........I think it's officially called OCD but I'm most comfortable with picky.

My blog is named after my children. I have taken pieces of their "real" names and mine and created Hope4Grace. Which was a winner when I realized that it perfectly described my life journey as well.

Flash Friday

Finally got off my lazy butt and added the labels to my site, yeah me!

Otherwise, I'll work my way through our highlights this week:

1. I haven't smoked....in 98 days
2. Princess's teacher said she is a dream and doesn't over talk (pick me up off the floor, that was a shocker)
3. We decided to continue with the new house hunt (pray for me, this could get ugly)
4. I golfed for the first time in my life and work paid me to do it
5. I started the campaign to turn my car into a 4x4 due to cold weather, snow issues...which is so far not working, but I will perservere.
6. Duchess got in trouble at school for refusing to wear shoes (yep, my red neck is showing)
7. I verbally attached a group of teenagers for.... just being teenagers, on my nightly walk .... when did I get old?
8. I realized that my diet is failing horribly and am now pricing non-evasive surgury to remove some of the uglies...... yep .... just as I thought, too freaking expensive.
9. I now headbang everytime my phone rings, thank you Dropkick Murphys.......
10. The Man is now suspsicious about why I'm watching "The Departed" too many times .... is it me or is Mark Walburg just a GREAT actor?

Flash Friday

Princess would like to share the news: she landed a small role in the annual Nutcracker! She will be a petite mice, rehersals start this coming week, but she is still on cloud nine! Congrats baby girl! Only 6 sessions in conservatory ballet and she is rocking!

Not to mention, the ever chatty child has actually been quiet in class so far this year! This is a huge accomplishment on her part.

She is having the best week!
Duchess is proud to announce that she is still the baby in the family and that is enough accomplishment for the week. :) Seriously pre-school is in session now and she can write her alphabet and name. Go girl. Now we're working on her counting, you know... 17-18-19-50-24. That sort of thing.

Soccer is going better. She is playing and pushing and kicking. Quite fun actually. She still is exhausted when leaving the field, poor baby can't take the action without needing a nap.

The Man still lives here but I haven't seen much of him since he got his new handgun. He's spending alot of time at the gun range, "to sight it in" uh-huh...... this is my "I'm believing you" face. But he's a happy man.

I started jogging, and then I started soaking in the tub then smearing myself with bengay....cause that crap is highly overrated....what is wrong with you people, jogging is the devil!

Thank you dear sweet co-worker who shared the stomach bug with me, I'm thinking of you even now as I attempt to keep ice cream down. Cause seriously what is the joy of throwing up if you can't eat non-diet food....ask the hashbrowns I had for lunch...yum

However, we've had a good week, between ballet, soccer practice and pre-holiday games we've managed to stay on schedule. So we're rewarding ourselves, with a trip to the mountains this weekend.....
I just love waterfals, there are a ton in this state....also now that I think about it, there are a ton of round abouts too....Redlights people, just use redlights!!!

Man....classy we are not...I'm seeing Dora post it notes, school and soccer schedules, notice my color coded monthly schedule, that is how I stay sane people!!!! James Dean magnet, cause sex and food go hand in hand and if you look real close and pay close attention you'll see the ONE and ONLY wedding picture I have from when I shackled myself (I mean blissfully wed) The Man....see it? Flash Friday....

No you perv, there isn't anyone nekkid here, just a quick overview of our week! Cause we all know that I'm running behind, school starts next week and I am so not ready, still washing camp clothes (that could explain the smell...hmmm) and well stuff....read on....
Christmas shopping has started. I'm very proud of myself as this is an early year for me. As both of my girlies have birthdays the WEEK of Christmas, I am always broke in December. The Man and I are trying something new, you know, purchasing things and spending money ahead of time! It'll be here before you know it, have YOU started yours yet? Princess is gonna love these army mary janes, she is a shoe nut like her momma.....

The Man bought this truck yesterday. I'm liking it....this isn't my house so don't ask to borrow the camper! We are selling his Dodge truck so if anyone wants it, give me a hollar! This baby is automatic so I can drive it without the fire department following me around....no burnt clutches anymore!

Finally got a little rain this week, the sky decided to spit on us a little. I love a good mountain storm, even a quick one. Lightening, thunder, little old ladies running outside in their moo-moo's to drag in their porch plants.......sigh.... home

This is evil and you can't tell me that Satan didn't invent FICO and all things mortgage and credit paperworthy! The paperwork and amount of pre-mortgage work is insane...I hate numbers!

This seems important today cause I am really feeling it this week....I even briefly thought about bumming one from an old man outside Wal-Mart the other day....this is how far I've fallin.
